The biggest curb-appeal move your house has

A garage door can cover a third of your home’s front face, and in most North Side neighborhoods it is the first thing anyone sees from the street. Replacing a tired door changes how the whole house reads, and it is one of the few exterior projects that returns most of its cost at resale.

This hub collects everything we publish on new doors: materials, insulation, styles, and the honest version of what things cost. No hype, no invented urgency. If your current door only needs a panel or a strut, we will say so, and our repair vs replace guide will help you decide which side of the line you are on.

Materials

Pick your material first

Steel garage doors

The default for a reason: durable, low maintenance, and the best value per year of service.

Wood and faux-wood doors

Real warmth and Hill Country looks, with honest talk about the upkeep.

Aluminum and glass doors

The modern full-view look, with the Texas heat tradeoffs spelled out.

Carriage house doors

Swing-barn style that rolls up like a normal door, in steel, composite, or wood.

Texas performance

Built for 100-degree summers and hail season

Insulated doors and R-values

What insulation actually does in a San Antonio garage, and the R-value worth paying for.

Energy-efficient garages

The garage is your AC’s weakest link. How to tighten it up.

Storm season prep

Get the door ready before the hail, not after.

The process

How a replacement actually goes

A replacement starts with measuring the opening and checking headroom, then picking material, style, and insulation. One thing most quotes skip: a heavier new door can need different springs and a look at the opener, so we size the whole system, not just the panels. Install day usually runs a few hours, and the old door gets hauled off. The full walkthrough lives on our new door installation page.

We quote the full installed price before work starts, and that quote is the price you pay.
