What makes a door high-speed
A high-speed door replaces the heavy steel curtain with a fabric or rubber panel that rolls or folds open many times faster than a standard door. Where a conventional commercial door takes twenty to thirty seconds to cycle, a high-speed door is open in a few seconds and closed again behind the forklift.
The point is not speed for its own sake. It is that the opening spends its day closed: conditioned air stays in, dust and pests stay out, and traffic never waits on hardware.

Size, panel material, wind rating, and controls drive the spread. Service realities after the install
More electronics means more to maintain, honestly stated. Photo-eyes and light curtains need cleaning and alignment, control panels occasionally need attention, and the breakaway bottom bar needs a reset procedure your staff should learn on day one. The counterweight or spring systems still wear with cycles, just on much higher ratings.
